Cleola Burns

Cleola T. Burns, nee Gass, 97, of Belleville, IL, born August 10, 1917, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Burns worked in the cafeteria at Belleville Township High School West before her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Burns; a son, James (Mary) Bien; a granddaughter, Kristina Bien; her parents, Alphonse and Mary, nee Mueller, Gass; two brothers, Cletus Gass and Cyril (Edna) Gass; and two sisters, Estelle Wade and Connie Kinsella.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond Bien of Belleville, IL,
and Rickey Bien of O’Fallon, IL;
a daughter, Marsha Morris of Smithton, IL;
eight grandchildren;
several great-grandchildren;
a sister, Harriet Reime of Waterloo, IL;
and nieces and nephews.

Some people come into our lives and quietly go, others stay for a while leaving footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at St. Luke Catholic Church, with Msgr. David Darin officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
