Dennis Paul Bevirt, 78, of O’Fallon, IL, born December 1, 1939, in Carrollton, IL, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, in O’Fallon, IL.

Mr. Bevirt honorably served in the United States Navy.  After his military service, Mr. Bevirt served on   the Belleville Police Department, retiring as a Sergeant.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret T. Madden; his parents, Hugo W. and Florence T., nee Paule, Bevirt; and two brothers, Allen and Niel Bevirt.

Surviving are two daughters, Denise (Ron) Trelow of O’Fallon, IL,  and Andrea (Ron) Schmittling of Edwardsville, IL;
and four grandchildren, Carly Trelow, Alyssa (Dr. Brenton) Ruopp, Brooke Trelow, and Paige Schmittling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The BackStoppers, Inc., 10411 Clayton, Road, Ste A5, St. Louis, MO 63131. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Private cremation services and interment will be held at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.

Just learned of Mr. Bevirt's passing. Wanting to send our condolences to the family. Worked on a project with him for a short time. Even though I didn't know him well, I really enjoyed his stories about his time in the Navy and on the police force. I know he will truly be missed.

Girls I miss your mom and I will surely miss your dad we had great times together prayers are with you. Denise I can still see you laying under the chair in our living while we made pizza

The O'Fallon YMCA will miss our friend Dennis. He has been part of our Y Family for many years. His presence will be greatly missed around the early morning coffee table. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time.
