Arlene DeMestri

Arlene C. DeMestri, nee Houba, 86, of Belleville, IL, born August 12, 1930, in Glen Carbon, IL, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at her residence.                                                   

Mrs. DeMestri worked as a secretary for 20 years for Mobil Oil and 20 years as supervisor for District #118.  Arlene was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Belleville, IL.  

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Antoinette, nee Kubelka, Houba, and her brother Al Houba.

Surviving are her husband, Bill N. DeMestri, whom she married June 11, 1955;
a daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Heidorn of Belleville, IL;
two grandchildren, Jeffrey W. and Jessica A. Heidorn both of Belleville, IL;
a sister-in-law, Carol Houba of Hecker, IL;
and nieces and nephews.

The DeMestri family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Arlene’s “sister” at heart, Peggy Tourville, and to the staff at Hospice of Southern Illinois, nurse Cathie, and caregivers Joanne, Joanna, Denise and Chris for their loving care and support.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday November 5, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Linda Reynolds officiating.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
