Alice Reime

Alice Jane Reime, nee Braun, of Swansea, IL, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Dammert Geriatric Center at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, IL.  She was 92 years old, born on February 29, 1924, and she had 23 leap year birthdays, which she celebrated to the fullest.

In 1940 at age 16, Alice graduated at the top of her class from the Academy of Notre Dame, Belleville, IL.  She loved the frequent luncheons with her classmates and celebrated with them at their 75th class reunion last year.  She was an active volunteer and often an officer for school, civic and charitable organizations.

She was preceded in death by Paul Reime, her husband of 59 years; her parents, Erwin Braun and Caroline Braun, nee Schanter; and a brother, James Braun.

She is survived by her three daughters,
    Paulette (Michael) Gorecki of Lee’s Summit, Mo,
    Jeanie (Terry) Heller of Glendale, Mo,
    and Fran (Don) Bennett of Westlake, Oh;
five grandchildren, Andrea Gorecki,
    Robert Gorecki,
    Tim (Katie) Bennett,
    Mark (Kelley) Bennett,
    and Julie (John) Megyimori;
and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 1706 West Main St., Belleville, IL 62226.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
