Stanley Quirin

Stanley J. Quirin, 90, of Belleville, IL, born June 5, 1926, in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, December 22, 2016, at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Quirin worked at the George Weis Company as a lather for 31 years.  He was a member of St. Henry's Parish, Belleville, IL. He always enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it be camping and boating with his wife and young children, playing softball on a team at Southside Park, or in later years, going on canoe trips with his son.

He and his wife maintained fulfilling friendships that persevered through decades and distance. He loved people-watching, and Cardinals ball games and backyard get-togethers were a mainstay as his family grew. Stan could always be counted on for a quick witticism or a heaping bowl of ice cream.

Stan was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Rose Marie, nee Branom, Quirin, whom he married on November 11, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, and who died on May 23, 2016; his parents, Clem F. and Amelia, nee Home, Quirin; a sister, Ruth Bruns; a brother, Norman Quirin, and a son-in-law, Dick Joyce.

Surviving are his son and daughter, James J. (Barbara) Quirin of Fenton, MO,
and Mary Sue Joyce (William Mueller) of Belleville, IL;
a daughter-in-law, Liz Quirin;
five grandchildren, Sarah Weeks,
     Kate (Casey) Spooner,

Condolences Left For Stanley Quirin

    Dear Jim, Mary Sue and Sarah,
    I am very sorry for your loss of your father and grandfather. I had the privilege of having meals with Stan and of getting to know him a bit. His photograph is wonderful. I was interested to read your words that Stan enjoyed being outdoors and family gatherings.
    I am sorry that you must suffer this loss, but, this Christmas, all of our parents are in the presence of the Christ Child.
    Sincerely,
    Greg Voss
