Dorothy Harris

Dorothy Ellen Harris, nee Peach, 94, of Swansea, IL, born February 28, 1922, in Nova Scotia, Canada, died Monday, January 30, 2017, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, St. Louis, MO.  

Mrs. Harris was a dedicated military wife who supported her husband and family in their travels throughout the world.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ben A. Harris; her parents, John and Jesse, nee Kennedy, Bush; and her sister, Annette Seamark.  

Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia (Paul) Scanlon,
    and Patricia Thomas;
a son, Doug (Shelley) Harris;
seven grandchildren, Kelly (Gary) Reuter,
    Magen (Kellen) Davis,
    Mike (Lea) Thomas,
    Chris (Amanda) Thomas,
    Jeff (Bailey) Scanlon,
    Carrie (David) Hasenstab,
    and Alexandra Harris;
seven great-grandchildren, Chloe Reuter,
    Kaylee Thomas,
    Noah Reuter,
    Hudson Davis,
    Brantley Thomas,
    Dylan Reuter,
    and Harlow Davis;
a sister, Shirley (Tom) Conquest;
her loyal pet and best friend Buddy;
along with many other nieces, nephews;
and friends.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Cari Frus officiating.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
