Robert Doughty

Robert E. “Bob” Doughty, 89, of Shiloh, IL, born June 20, 1927, in Evansville, IN, died Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL

Mr. Doughty was a graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and retired from the Olin Corporation.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Bob was a very devoted family man.  He loved spending many days at his grandchildren’s ball games, dance recitals, band concerts and scouting activities.  He was just a fun-loving grandpa.
                                        
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Nellie, nee Craig, Doughty; and a son, Mark Doughty.

Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Bettye M. Doughty, nee Raber, whom he married on May 28, 1945;
three sons, Neal (Darya) Doughty,
    Mike Doughty,
    and Randy (Cindy) Doughty;
five grandchildren, Rachel (Mike), Christopher,
    Katie, Dylan (Loren),
    and Tyler (Kelsie),
and one great-grandson, Graham.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, IL.
