Floye M. Allan

Floye Marie Allan, nee Price, 78, of Belleville, IL, born January 29, 1929, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.



Floye was a homemaker, and previously worked as a bookkeeper for William R. Allan Construction Company.  She belonged to St. John United Church of Christ, Smithton, IL; Ladies of the Moose, Caseyville, IL; and Cursillo in Christianity of Peoria, IL.  She enjoyed shopping, reading, gardening, and cooking; and was especially known for her holiday cookies.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends.  She was a caring and compassionate person willing to do anything for anyone.  She was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, and companion.



Floye was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Eileen; her former husband, William Allan; special aunts and uncles, Edith and Elmer Lutz and Hazel and John Bennett; a cousin, Marvin Reichert; and a close friend, Vandy Hill.  



Floye is survived by her loving companion and fiancé, Carl Stevenson of Belleville, IL;

her daughter, Barbara (Robert) Ohlendorf of Smithton, IL;

her son, David (Marian) Allan of East Peoria, IL;

two brothers, Ronald (Carol) Price and Larry (Elvadine Behrman) Price, both of Belleville, IL; two very special grandchildren, Michael (fiancé, Amanda Poston) Ohlendorf of Freeburg, IL, and Kristen (Kristopher) Darr of Belleville, IL;

her sister-in-law, Shirley Brugere of Belleville, IL;

her niece, Karen (Richard) Bruno of Belleville, IL;

her Godchild, Vickie (Larry) Claro of Belleville, IL;

cousins, Ronald (Dolores) Horschmann and Edith Skaer, both of New Athens, IL, Ruth Reichert of Lenzburg, IL, Don (Mary) Reichert of Peoria, IL, and Sam (Dolores) Piazza of St. Peters, MO;

close family friends, Blanche Mabry and Jack Butler, both of Belleville;

and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with the Rev. Ted Engelsdorfer officiating.

 

Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

Condolences Left For Floye M. Allan

    Dear David, Barb and Carl

    So very sorry to hear of Floye's passing.  She was a great friend and we will always remember and miss her great smile, laugh and spirit.  We feel very fortunate to have crossed paths with her and her family.



    Joni called us last night with the news of Floye's death.  We are in Granville, OH, volunteering with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps and will not return home until next week.

    Floye was a wonderful lady.  I met her some years ago when I sold her house in New Athens.  We kept in touch for some time and lost touch a couple of years ago.  Her family meant so much to her and I am so very sorry for your loss.
