Kathleen Brunsmann, nee Watson, 63, of Belleville IL, born February 14, 1954, in St. Louis, MO, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Kathleen, known as “Faf” to most, “mom,” and her most favorite title of all, “Ahma,” to her beloved grandchildren, worked as a court reporter for St. Clair County for over 40 years. She also did freelance court reporting both in Illinois and in Missouri.  Faf was the leader of the Shiloh Women’s Bible Study. She was a 1972 graduate of Triad High School.  Faf was a beautiful woman inside and out, lit up a room with her smile, had a contagious laugh, and most of all, loved her family “to the moon and back.” She will be missed by all who knew her. There is no replacing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Leeds and Betty, nee Baker, Watson; and the father of her children, Eric Brunsmann.

Surviving are children, Luke Brunsmann of Belleville, IL, and Erin (Stephen) Mitchell of Denver, CO;
her Budder Cake, Leeds, her Buster Brown Eyes, Ezra, and her Squeaker, Coulter Mitchell;
two sisters, Sue (Don) Callahan of Moro, IL,  and Pat (Venita) Maronie of Edwardsville, IL;
two brothers, Jim (Tina) Watson of Sunset Hills, MO;
and Mike Watson of Chicago, IL;
and loving nieces and nephews.

As an extension of her love, memorials may be made to an education fund for her grandchildren in care of Erin Mitchell. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017, and from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at First United Presbyterian Church, 1303 Royal Heights Road, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at First United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Robert Dyer officiating.

Luke and Erin, my condolences on the untimely passing of your mother. I had the pleasure of having your mother as my court reporter when I worked in St. Clair County. She was a joy to work with; she was proud of and talked often about her children; she enjoyed life and made life more enjoyable for all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Luke and Erin, I am so sorry to hear for your loss. This is the only time I wish I was on social media to be able to reach out. My heart is with your family as you go through this time. Your mother was always very sweet to me and I remember her fondly. My mother shared the video with me from FB - that is exactly how I remember her - so sweet and fun and loving! Wish i could hug your necks. Again, prayers being sent your way. Much love, Jaci

Kathy, Kathy, Kathy. What a class act! What a JOY to know. What a better place she made this world. What a void will be left. Words certainly don't do justice in expressing my heartfelt sympathy to her dearest family and friends, which she loved ever so fiercely. Luke and Erin, you were her heart and soul. Her eyes lit up and her voice always full of enthusiasm when talking about you two. She was a proud momma! Oh so proud! Please know I carry you in my heart and lift you up in prayer during this difficult time as you navigate this world without her physical presence. I am confident her spirit will gift you every day. No words to adequately describe the woman she was. I know you know. She will be missed. I am so fortunate God saw fit to cross my path with Kathy....

Our family should not be without this beautiful light. She has always been one to check in on us and make sure we are ok in times we are struggling. She was one of the most wonderful mother's I know and her children are just like her. I love them both so much. I hurt for their loss. She will be missed by us all. I love you Faf... I'm so sorry for your loss! Your Mom was truly an example of a Christian woman and I will never forget her sweet spirit and infectious smile! I met your Mom about 17 years ago at Central Pres and I was blessed to have known her. Just know that God is with you as you feel the loss and always remember to continue to celebrate her life!

My Sincere condolence to Kathy's family during the time of deep sorrow. Kathy was and I believe still IS a wonderful and beautiful child of GOD. I had the pleasure of attending her Bible Study classes. Her light shines brighter in Heaven as she Brightened our classes with her great insight of the awesomeness of God's Greatness. While we grieve her loss, I know she must be dancing on the clouds. ONE DAY we shall meet again.. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN of GOD!!! With Love, Bridget Bundt

I had the pleasure of Kathy serving as my court reporter for many years. She was a Christian in the truest sense of the word. She freely shared her bounty and volunteered her services to uplift the less fortunate. Some take particular joy at being amused by other people; however, Kathy got the biggest kick out of laughing at herself. My life has been and will continue to be enriched by living spirit of this remarkable woman.

Faffy,as I used to call her, was more than one of my favorite big sisters growing up. She always watched out for me and my younger brother. We have always been close with their family and I loved her with all my heart. Just one more angel to look out for us. You will be greatly missed here but I know you are where you need to be to do more good! Remembering Your laugh alone will always bring great joy to me! Rest In Peace my friend!
