I know it's been 4 years but I just found out. I was just so sad and shocked. I had seen you a couple of years ago (like 2014) at Lucky's. I don't think I had seen you before then since high school. My deepest sympathies to all your friends and family and especially Kelli whom I remember from high school. Her and Andrea Bauer were in my gym class. And maybe other classes. It's hard to remember so much time has passed. Anyway, Waz, you will never be forgotten. I still have the high school picture you gave me back when we were in algebra class together. RIP

So great to see Waz at an Edwardsville High School 1982 alumni gathering a year or two ago! He moved to Belleville before graduation, but I recognized him immediately and approached him - Waz: the same guy, only taller! Same smile, same warmth/kindness, same easy manner. He made things good just by being there, not only that night but everywhere he visited, I am certain of that. To his family/friends, I am so sorry; I wish you peace and warmth in memories. Mark will not be forgotten.

I cannot believe Waz is gone! He had a personality bigger than life. A heart bigger than the universe. A sense of humor stronger than any comic of any generation. Though no one ever called him a big man he was one of the biggest men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing! I take great peace in knowing him and Football (David Fitzgerald) are reunited! You are a one of a kind, Mark, and no one can ever replace you, Waz! ❤?✌
