Michael Kelley
Print Obituary
Mike Kelley, 28, of Belleville, IL, born June 9, 1986, passed away on May 14, 2015, after a courageous and brave fight against cancer.

Mike is survived by his beautiful wife, love of his life and best friend, Sarah, nee Wingbermuehle, Kelley;
his loving and sad parents, Carrie and Randy;
inseparable brother and sisters, Erin, Tom, and Mo;
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Laura and Tim, Susan and Zach,
Mary and Alex, and Anne;
dear mother-in-law and father-in-law, Denise and Ray;
grandmothers, Pat Fairbairn and Colleen Kelley;
cousins; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles.
All loved him so much and will miss him more.

He is also survived by more friends and admirers than could ever be listed.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Joe Fairbairn and Pete Kelley.

Mike loved sports, particularly baseball, and was a standout pitcher for the Althoff, Belleville Hilgards, and SWIC baseball teams.

He was a graduate of Althoff Catholic High School and Illinois State University and was employed as the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator by Lincoln Prairie Behavior Health Hospital in Springfield, IL.  Mark and Emily were his wonderful friends and bosses.

Mike was the kindest, happiest, and most fun-loving man any of us have known.  His life was his wife, his family, his friends, and laughter.  He touched so many and made the lives of all he knew better.

Memorials may be made to the Jason Motte Foundation or to the Mike Kelley Refuse to Lose Foundation.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Mike’s family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Kenneth York and Rev. Joseph Ring concelebrating the funeral Mass.

We are all so lucky to have shared his life, and his spirit and smiles will fill the emptiness in our hearts each and every day.

Randy and Carrie, I hope you find solace in knowing that the two of you are the reason that Mike turned out to be such a wonderful young man. When our girls would babysit, they were amazed that Mike never complained, and the other kids were so terrific! Your never-ending, ever giving love, affection and pride made Mike the man he was. Mike went to heaven knowing how blessed, proud and thankful he was to have you as parents. God bless and comfort you, Randy and Carrie, and Erin, Tom and mo.
