Mr. Bruss worked at Stag Brewery and retired after 40 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 1739, a lifetime member of Moose Lodge 1221, and a WWII Air Force veteran. Orville was also a die-hard Cubs fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 67 years, Rita C., nee Monroe, Bruss, whom he married on June 11, 1949, and who died on May 8, 2016; his parents, Herman H. and Eleanora, nee Wright, Bruss; three sisters, Florence Davis, Dorothy Mueller, and Betty Wagner; and a brother, Kenneth Bruss.
Surviving are three sons, Gary Bruss of Highland, IL, Michael (Juanita) Bruss of Swansea, IL, and Thomas (Jan) Bruss of New Athens, IL;
two daughters, Barbara Bruss of Swansea, IL, and Laura (Al) Davis of Swansea, IL;
six grandchildren, Kelli (Chris) Fox, Amy Zike, Brian and Kimberly Bruss, Tommy (Tiffany) Bruss, and Joey Rauschkolb;
three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lance, and Breeanna;
and one sister-in-law, Rita Bruss.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Douglas Stewart officiating.
Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
