Patricia Reynolds

Print Obituary
Patricia N. Reynolds, nee Davis, 58, of Freeburg, IL, born November 29, 1959, at Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, IL, died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Saint Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO, surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia was fortunate enough to have met the love of her life at 13 years old at Freeburg High School.  Mike and Pat married a few years later.  She stayed at home and took care of their 3 children and attended BAC (SWIC) for accounting. She began volunteering at school when her youngest started kindergarten and eventually went on to work for Freeburg Elementary School.  After a few years she left Freeburg Elementary to accept a position at the St. Clair County Treasurer’s Office and eventually retired from the County after 26 years in 2017.

Over the years, Patricia volunteered at the library and was involved at the First Baptist Church of Freeburg.  She was a very loving wife and mother. Patricia was passionate about spending time with her grandkids, always attending their extracurricular events and relaxing with them as much as possible in the pool.  With Patricia, friends were her family as well.  When it came to any family party or holiday celebration, everyone was welcome at her table.  All of Pat’s friends and family would know that her favorite place on earth was St. John Island U.S.V.I. with her toes in the sand and a bushwhacker in hand. Given her love for the island, she chose this as her final resting place…

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth L. Davis; maternal grandparents, Wallace D. and Edna M., nee Hartley, Bell;  paternal grandparents, Pleasant and Lena, nee Moulder, Davis, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clarence “Tex” and JoAnn, nee Carr, Reynolds.

Surviving are her husband of nearly 43 years, Michael R. Reynolds, whom she married on August 13, 1975;
two daughters, JoDee (Aaron) Burrow and Andrea Reynolds;
a son, Jeremy (Alicia) Reynolds;
eight grandchildren, Mallory, Clark, Ethan, Adreanna, Noella, Hartley, Asher, and Lizzy;
her mother, Delores J., nee Bell, Davis;
one brother, Michael (Debbie) Davis;
and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Freeburg. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Freeburg, IL.

Andrea, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I loved seeing the tribute posts of her you put on Facebook. It's apparent how much she meant to you and the people who knew her. I continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time in your family.

Dear JoDee, Andrea, and Jeremy, It was such a shock to read of the loss of your mother. Pat was my aide during the year that I taught 1st grade at Freeburg Grade School (before I moved back up into the middle school where a few years later, I had the privilege of becoming your math teacher). Your mom worked beside me during that entire year with Jeremy being one of the little first-graders in our classroom. She was a quiet, faithful, and competent helper and the most pleasant co-worker imaginable. Your mother always helped in whatever way she could. I considered her a friend. Please know that my heart goes out to you, to your father, Mike, to Pat's mother and brother, to your entire family, as well as to so very many others who had the joy of knowing Pat. With sincerest sympathy, the very fondest of memories, and prayers for God's blessings upon you, Mrs. Sylvia Schaub

As this sad news is a couple of days old, but still having trouble believing its true, have to remember how Pat enjoyed April Fool's day, it was almost a special holliday for her. One year in the office we tricked out her desk because she enjoyed this day so much, and she truly enjoyed our pranks. Had the thought, can this be her biggest prank, if she had to leave us suddenly, perhaps if she could choose, this is the day she would have chosen. Nothing I can say can help erase her family and friends sorrow, so I will continue to ask God to help during this hard to understand time.

We are so sorry for your loss. Pat was such a happy, loving person and we were blessed to know her and be part of all of your lives. She had so much life left to live but now we should all try to be a little better each day in memory of her. Hold tight to each other and we pray God will take care of each of you in your sorrow.
