Mr. Bertelsman retired from the Stag Brewing Company in Belleville with 45 years of service. He belonged to the Quail Club and was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. Paul was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eleanore, nee Roberg, Bertelsman, whom he married on September 21, 1954, and who died on October 6, 2011; his parents, Edmund and Grace J., nee Vernier, Bertelsman; a brother, Leo Bertelsman; and a sister, Grace Mary Klucker.
Surviving are his two sons, Randy (Tara) Bertelsman and Ronald Bertelsman;
four grandchildren, Rebecca (Jon) Brunson, Amy (Tim) Muse, Michelle Bertelsman, and Seth Adam Bertelsman;
eight great-grandchildren;
and nieces and nephews.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. David Darin officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Shiloh, IL.
