Steve received his bachelors and masters degrees in Information Management from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. He worked for many years in the IT field, including his current employer, Reed Elsevier. Steve had a never-ending thirst for knowledge and spirituality. He loved playing his guitars, listening to a wide variety of music, reading his many books, and expressing himself through his art.
Surviving are his parents, Robert and Rita, nee Howl, Whitcomb of Fairview Heights, IL;
his brother Mark (Rose) Whitcomb of Shiloh, IL;
aunts and uncles;
cousins,
and many friends, especially Chris Morris, Mike Szwedo, and Steve Helfer.
Steve’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Missouri Baptist Hospital, especially the Oncology center and their caring staff. We also want to thank the wonderful people at the Southwestern Illinois Visiting Nurses Association and the team of caregivers of the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
