Sharon Louise Mueller, nee Weitekamp, 70, of Belleville, IL, born February 19, 1945, in Litchfield, IL, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Mueller retired as a radiology transcriptionist from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL, where she had worked for 28 years.  She had also been a welfare officer for the Catholic War Veterans.  Sharon was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, she enjoyed embroidering, and loved laughing with Cody and Cameron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Verna, nee Matli, Weitekamp of Raymond, IL; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edward and Amelia Mueller; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Joseph Koslofski, Pat Weitekamp, and Dr. William Rankin.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Lawrence E. “Larry” Mueller, whom she married on November 26, 1966;
two daughters, Michelle (Mark) Callahan of Clio, CA,
and Amy Mueller-Howard D.V.M. (Steve Howard) of Fairview Heights, IL;
two grandsons, Cody J. Callahan
and Cameron K. Howard;
a sister, Doris (Leland) Schmitz of Rosamond, IL;
two brothers, James Weitekamp of Harvel, IL,
and Larry (Nancy) Weitekamp of Raymond, IL;
many nieces and nephews;
great-nieces and great-nephews;
and her dear, close friend, Sharon Reiher.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Liturgy of the Word funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Anthony Onyango officiating.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.

Amy, I’m so sorry for your loss. I only knew your mother for those few days I took care of her in the hospital, but I know you cared deeply for her.
