Shirley Jean Cissell, nee Schmidt, 82, of Belleville, IL, born February 1, 1936, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, July 2, 2018, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Mrs. Cissell was a mother to many and will be deeply missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, John H. Cissell, whom she married on August 25, 1975, and who died on April 25, 2013; a daughter, Vickie Boyle; a son, James Brandt; her parents, Elmer and Olivia Lee, nee Greener, Schmidt; a sister, Nancy Schmitz; and her mother-in-law, Lucille Cissell.

Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Webster and Linda (John) Boyle;
a daughter-in-law, Kathy Brandt;
a son-in-law, Don Boyle,
seven grandchildren, Sheila (Mike) Nicoson, Jamie (Steve) Mank, James R. Brandt, JJ Boyle, Jackie (Dalton) Hollembeak, Jarod Boyle and Shannon Boyle;
two great-grandchildren, Mason Mank and Aiden Hollembeak;
many nieces and nephews, including Annette Klotz, Brenda Neighbors, Jeff Schmitz, and Karla (Dave) Sandifer;
and her special canine friend, Charity.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Deacon Robert Lanter officiating.  Burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.

Shirley had the best personality and the prettiest smile. So sorry that we cannot attend her service. We remember the fun times that we had with her and John. Love to the family. Tom and Mary
