Jessica LePes (33) daughter of Debbie and Ed LePes, born March 5, 1990, in Belleville, IL, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Evelyn’s House, St. Louis, MO.
Jessica’s love for animals, especially horses, was boundless; she had a passion for animals that filled her heart and brought her joy. In Jessica’s early years, her unbreakable bond with her horse, Eva, was a defining and cherished part of her life. The connection between Jessica and Eva was something truly special, a testament to the deep love and trust that can exist between a person and their animal companion. Riding Eva in shows brought Jessica immense joy and satisfaction. The time spent with Eva was a source of solace and happiness for Jessica, and it undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping her love for animals.
Her infectious smile, like the sun breaking through the clouds, brightened the darkest of days. She also loved to hear jokes and share in the simple pleasure of a good laugh. Her laughter was a melody that echoed in the hearts of all who knew her. Laughter was one of Jessica’s most cherished and endearing characteristics. Her smile and laughter had a magical way of bringing happiness to everyone fortunate enough to be in her presence. It is a testament of her spirit that she will be remembered not only for these qualities but also for the warmth and happiness it brought to the lives of others. Jessica’s love for listening to stories, especially those about her loved ones or stories that evoked cherished memories, highlighted her deep connection to the people in her life. But above all, Jessica’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and pets. Her family was her anchor.
Jessica was a true fighter, displaying remarkable resilience in the face of a tragic medical episode 19 years ago. She never allowed adversity to define her, and her daily display of courage was an inspiration to all of us. Her unwavering determination and fighting spirit were evident throughout her life and continued to shine until her final day. Even in the most challenging times, Jessica never gave up. She faced each day with bravery and a fearless will, showing that the human spirit can triumph over even the most difficult circumstances. Her strength served as a beacon of hope.
As she fought hard until her final day, Jessica’s legacy of resilience and bravery will forever be a source of inspiration for those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to inspire us to face life’s challenges with the same determination and grace that she exemplified throughout her life. As we say goodbye to Jessica, we remember her love she had for all living creatures, her smile, her laughter, her strength, and her love for her family.
