Martha grew up in Belleville, born to Lawrence and Zita, nee Becker, Gain. She moved to Merrillville, IN, in 2011 to be closer to her daughter where she enjoyed living in her first apartment. She moved to Clarendale Senior Living in Schererville, IN in 2018, still enjoying her independence and being involved in many of the amenities of Clarendale, including bingo, ambassador’s club, LCR dice games, crafts and entertainment.
Martha was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Merrillville, IN, and was a former member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Belleville, IL. She was a member of OLC Women’s Guild, OLC 55+ Senior Club, OLC Friends in Christ Outreach Ministry, OLC Feeding the Flock, ARCS Senior Club and Phil’s Friends Cancer Ministry of Crown Point, IN. Martha loved to do crafts, quilting, shopping, and travel. A special thanks to Clarendale Senior Living of Schererville for all their help and understanding during this difficult time. Due to Covid-19 they were most generous, allowing her daughter to stay with her in her independent living apartment to take care of her. Also special thanks to Unity Hospice of Merrillville, IN for their advice and support.
