David Luebbers, 74, of Freeburg, IL, born June 30, 1946, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Evelyn’s House, Creve Coeur, MO.

Mr. Luebbers was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, the St. Libory American Legion, and the Southern Illinois Carpenters Union Local 662.  David loved the outdoors, bird hunting, and was an avid fisherman.  He had served in the United States Army Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke G. and Eleanor E., nee Buescher, Luebbers; two sisters, Marilyn Farnsworth and Verlene Harris; and a brother-in-law, Dave Harris.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Sharon Luebbers, whom he married on October 22, 1994; five children, Daniel (Brenda) Luebbers, Michael (Kimberly) Luebbers,  Michelle (Robert) Fritz, Mark (Laura) Ford, and Tony (Jamie) Ford; eight grandchildren, Lucas, Austin, Robert Grace, Alex, Adelyn, Kylie and Paxton; two sisters, Betty Kimura and Linda (Jim) Steiner; mother of Dave’s Children, Fran Luebbers; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved companion dog, Skipper.

Memorials may be made to Randy’s Rescue Ranch or to Helping Strays Monroe County. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Private visitation for family and close friends will be held Monday, February 22, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL. Standard CDC guidelines, including masks and a limited number of visitors at any one time, will be observed.

 Funeral:  Private funeral services for family and close friends will be held Monday, February 22, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL, with Deacon Corby Valentine officiating.

Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.

Family of Dave Luebbers, I was just informed Dave passed away! I’m so sorry for your loss! Dave was such a Great Guy and had lots of stories to tell when he was a Carpenter at 480, now Local 662.. My sympathies to Sharon & the family. I remember Dave from living across the street as youngsters in St. Libory to watching our Grandsons play grade school sports. RIP, Dave. You were a real friend.

Hi family of Dave, This is a sad surprise when I heard of Dave leaving us. I had many good times with him from the 1st grade @ St Libory Thru Marissa High School together. I know that anyone who new Dave will miss him. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family. I think Dave is watching over us.

To Sharon and family, I'm sadden to learn of David's passing. My deepest condolences to you. May you have many great memories to see you through this time and into the future. We were classmates at Marissa High School in the early 1960's. He was a good person and fun to be with. May he rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
