Mr. Zipfel was a United States Navy veteran and served in World War II.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Zipfel; his parents, Agnellus H. and Toleitha R., nee Honer, Zipfel; and two brothers, Melvin Zipfel and Marvin Zipfel.
Surviving are three children, Jane Zipfel, Brad Zipfel, and Rhonda Zipfel;
seven grandchildren, Courtney Mulligan, Ty Mulligan, Hannah Heil, James Wyatt Heil, Zachary Zipfel, Chad Zipfel, and Nichole Zipfel;
numerous great-grandchildren;
a brother, Marion “Bud” Zipfel;
and a sister, Marilyn Boehne Zipfel.

Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
