Warren was a standout pitcher for Freeburg High School and McKendree College. He was a retired teacher for Cahokia District 187, where he taught Science and Physical Education classes. He also spent some of his years as the Athletic Director and basketball coach for St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Grade School and the baseball coach for Wirth Jr. High and Cahokia High School. Warren was an avid golfer. He loved going to stock car races, watching Cubs games, and most of all being there for all his grandchildren’s events. Warren was a very proud man and everyone’s favorite pal to hang out with.
Warren is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Ittner, nee Timmermann, whom he married on December 29, 1962; his parents, Edward and Katherine, nee Huetel, Ittner; a granddaughter, Abigail Elizabeth Rao; three brothers, Edward G. Ittner, Gary Ittner, and John Parke; a sister, Audrey Snyder; and a sister-in-law, Nancy (Donald) Loepker.
Surviving are his children, Sheryl Ittner, of Belleville, IL, Gregory (Debbie) Ittner of Bloomingdale, IL, and their children Wesley and Derek Ittner, and Robyn (Wil) Rao of Naperville, IL, and their children Ethan, Catherine, Henry and Juliana Rao; a sister, Margaret (James) Bradford; a sister-in-law, Janet Ittner; two brothers-in-law, David (Margie) Timmermann and Michael Timmermann; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. James Buerster officiating.
Burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Beckemeyer, IL.
