Gaye was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, IL. She was also a former member of St. John United Church of Christ, Smithton, IL, and a part of the women’s fellowship at church. Gaye was a dedicated member of the Swansea Fire Department auxiliary group. Gaye loved her kids and grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them.
Mrs. Bettis was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence A. and Mildred L., nee Mueth, Acker.
Surviving are her loving husband of 63 years, Alvin Bettis; two children, Gayal (Greg) Rademaker of Lincoln, IL, and Michael Bettis of Collinsville, IL; four grandchildren, Courtney (Ryan) Froidcoeur, Kristina Bettis, Greyson Rademaker, and Tanner Bettis; her great-granddaughter, Adelynn Froidcoeur; and her brother, Gary A. Acker of Belleville, IL.

A Swansea Fire Department auxiliary walk-through will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
