Agnes E. Richter, nee Schneider, 96, of Belleville, IL, born May 24, 1921, in Belleville, IL, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL.
Agnes was co-owner and vice president of DA Richter Pools for 35 years; an employee of the Roesch Enameling Plant for 21 years; and a Red Cross volunteer at St. Elizbeth’s Hospital for 20 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. She was a member of the Perpetual Help Sodality and the Cathedral Quilters at the church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 937, Smithton, IL, Blue Army of Mary, and Women of the Moose Chapter 53, Belleville, IL. She loved her many friends and happy times spent at PSOP.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dallas A. Richter, whom he married April 16, 1947, at St. James Catholic Church, St. Louis, MO, and who died on June 14, 2005; her parents, John W. and Clara B., nee Quirin, Schneider; two sisters, Florence (Carl) Keiner and Teresa Gauch; a dear nephew and godson, Eric J. Keiner; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stephen Leo and Mayme L., nee Klees, Richter; two brothers-in-law, Elwood Lee and Clifford Dillon; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dillon, Jean Dillon and Echo Hale;
She is survived by her niece, Lynn (Steven) Glauber of Hillsboro, MO;
two great-nieces, Lara (Kaitlin) Glauber and Leah (Josh) Spehn;
a great-nephew and godson, Daniel Glauber all of St. Louis, MO;
a sister-in-law, Patricia Richter; and many nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the comforting care provided by the staffs at St. Paul’s Home and Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Belleville, IL. American Legion Auxiliary ritual will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at the funeral home.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. John Myler officiating.
Burial will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
