Mr. Simon worked at Peerless Stove Foundry, Belleville, IL, and at Wiegmann-Hubbell in Freeburg, Illinois, before his retirement. He was an avid hunter, hunting in the western United States for deer, elk, and antelope. He participated in numerous competitive shooting contests and also in early west pioneer reenactments. Albert was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and also a past president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles post #743.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Anna, nee Engel, Simon.
Surviving are his sister, Carol Simon of Belleville, IL;
five cousins,
William (Deborah) Engel, of St. Louis, MO,
Nancy Engel, of Belleville, IL,
Richard (Karen) Engel, of Swansea, IL,
Barbara (Robert) Bildner, of St. Louis, MO
and Donald (Nan) Goeger, of TX;
and his canine companion, Skooter.

Burial with military honors will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
