Aleen “Mickey” Renner, nee Meckfessel, 92, of Belleville, IL, born November 4, 1926, in Belleville, IL, died, Thursday, January 10, 2019, at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Renner was a homemaker.  She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, IL. She served on the church council and was a member of the Women’s Day Fellowship at the church. She was also a member of the Parent Teacher Organization for Exceptional Children (PTOEC). Aleen’s greatest passions were cooking, helping on the farm and painting.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas H. Renner, Sr., whom she married on April 13, 1946, and who died on April 19, 2002; her parents, Arthur and Alvina, nee Hauptmann, Meckfessel; a sister, Dorothy Weiss; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Renner;

She is survived by a son, Thomas Renner, Jr. of Belleville, IL;
four daughters, Penny (Terry) True of Swansea, IL, Jeanne (Vince) Gustafson of Centralia, IL, Cherri (John) Fryer of Hallettsville, TX, and Peggy Jo Renner of Belleville, IL;
10 grandchildren;
24 great-grandchildren;
and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, IL., or to Heartland Hospice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Pastor Herbert Schafale officiating. 

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

The Renner family was my second family while I was stationed at Scott AFB. Mrs. Renner made me feel like part of the family. I will always remember working on their farm and eating dinner with the family. Wonderful family that I to this day will be forever grateful for their kindness shown to me.
