Mr. Mueller was lovingly called the “Shepherd of the Shiloh Road” by his wife. Allen gave tirelessly of his time and talents to help others. He helped countless people who showed up at his tool shop needing something fixed, or a piece of something or other to do a repair job. Most of the time he supplied the piece (from his stash in the barn) and did the repair job as well. He was an accomplished pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol in his earlier years. He and other Civil Air Patrol members recovered and restored an airplane in his tool shop, then took a test flight from his farm field road. He was a man of patience and expertise with a vast wealth of knowledge. He was a gentleman and a gentle man. Allen was a life-time farmer and operated Al’s Stump Chipping for many years. He was a lifelong member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Shiloh, IL. He was also a member of the St. Clair County Farm Bureau, the Jolly Seniors, Oliver Hart-Parr Collectors Association, and the Shiloh Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frieda, nee Gundlach, Mueller; three brothers, Melvin, Donald, and Glenn Mueller (in infancy); and a sister Esther Reno.

Our sympathies are with you all. We only wish there were more that we could do to help heal the sorrow. I’ll never forget our picking tomatoes how he kept finding the large ones and giving them to me smiling the whole time, LOL. His goodness will remain alive in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Please let us help if there’s any way that we can. Sara and Lorena Faskell

Great memories when we were children, he,Dee dee, and Harvey would come to our house on Friday nights to play cards and drink beer. In the winter if it snowed the three guys would pull us in a large Bob sled, pulled by tractor. Loved his mom, she was beautiful. My sympathy to Evelyn and family. Love and prayer, Jim and Dottie Normand
