Andrew Buss

Andrew M. Buss, 79, of Freeburg, IL, born December 6, 1936, in Lively Grove Township, IL, died Saturday, October 8, 2016, at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Buss was a coal miner, having worked at the National Mine Company in Nashville, IL, at Peabody Coal Company, and at the Baldwin Underground mine.  He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Union Local 1820.  He was an avid antique dealer and auction-goer, and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Buss was a U.S. Army veteran.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Elizabeth, nee Stein, Buss; one brother, Raymond Buss; and one sister, Deloras Terveer.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Ruth A., nee Voegele, Buss, whom he married on May 17, 1968;
one son, Jason Buss (Daniel D. Hamilton) of Belleville, IL;
two daughters, Monica (Daniel) Lemp of Granite City, IL,
and Dawn Winterbauer (Michael P. Smith) of New Athens, IL;
four grandchildren, Ashley, Samantha,
Daniel, and Clayton;
one sister, Rosemary (Dan) Terveer of St. Libory, IL;
one brother, Jerome (Judy) Buss of Oakdale, IL;
one sister-in-law, Marilyn Buss of Darmstadt, IL;
one brother-in-law, Roy Terveer of New Baden, IL;
and his canine companion, Mariah.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Renner Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral procession will leave at 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016,  from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, for a 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Fr. Mark Reyling officiating.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill., at a later date.
