Andrew William Lehman, 46, of Freeburg, IL, born July 18, 1969, in Sparta, IL, died Monday, July 11, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Lehman served as Superintendent of Freeburg Community High School District 77 for the past 13 years, and formerly was an assistant principal and principal of the school.  Early in his teaching career he was a history teacher and boys’ varsity baseball coach at Breese Central High School, Breese, IL.  He was a former principal at Carterville High School, Carterville, IL. Andrew earned a bachelors’ degree and a masters’ degree in History at Truman State University, Kirksville, MO.  He earned his second masters degree in Educational Administration from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, IL.

Andrew was an assistant coach for the Freeburg Midgets girls’ softball team, a position he truly enjoyed.  An avid baseball fan, he loved to golf with friends and his children, and always enjoyed the annual “Midget/Cougar Cup”, a golf tournament between the Freeburg and Breese Central High Schools Administration.  He was a past member of the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs, and served on several educational boards in the area.

Surviving are his loving wife of 20 years, Kerri, nee Slightom, Lehman, whom he married on July 31, 1995;
three children, Ella Pearl,
Martha Grace,
and Jackson Glenn, all at home;
his parents, Robert J. and Imogene L., nee Frieze, Lehman of Marissa, IL;
one sister, Elizabeth (Larry Jr.) Caldieraro of Staunton, IL;
three brothers, Joseph (Karen) Lehman of Midland, MI,
David (Melanie) Lehman of Marissa, IL,
and Daniel Lehman of New Athens, IL;
and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Lehman children’s education fund at Citizens Bank.    Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at
Freeburg Community High School, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral:  A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the high school, with Rev. Dr. Don Wagner officiating.
