Andrew John Rubin, 43, of O’Fallon, IL, born September 19, 1977, in Litchfield, IL, died Monday, September 21, 2020, at his residence.

Andrew worked as the kitchen manager of Mikey’s Pub in Smithton, IL. He grew up in Mount Pulaski, IL, and later attended of Stephen Decatur High School, Decatur, IL.

Andrew loved the St. Louis Cardinals, cooking meals and trying new recipes for his family, and spending time with his many friends. His greatest joy was being a dad to Dalton.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Martin and Ella Rubin; and maternal grandparents, Gayford and Shirly Wills.

Surviving are his son, Dalton Anthony Squires of O’Fallon, IL;
his father and stepmother, Floyd (Theresa) Rubin of Decatur, IL;
his mother, Marguerite Lynne, nee Wills, Jennings of O’Fallon, IL;
a sister, Amy Lakin of Springfield, IL;
stepsisters and stepbrother, Amanda Hurt, Candy Leamon and William Dean Leamon, all of Decatur, IL;
his niece and nephew, Julia Lakin and Jacob Lakin, both of Springfield, IL;
and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education fund that will be arranged for Dalton. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Funeral: A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020, at the Springfield Motor Boat Club, 17 Club Area, Springfield, IL. Family will be received at 4:30 and the service will begin at 5:30. For everyone’s safety, masks must be worn inside.

I met Andrew ( bubba) aka ..when he come to decatur we live in the same apartment complex..we become good friends .. he a good guy will miss u bro ..and so sorry for the loss god bless

Andrew was like a son to me and a good friend of my daughters. We have alot of memories to cherish. He was a great father, son, and friend. I ? for comfort to all that knew him. Know you will be missed by many Drew. RIP until we meet again you will always have a place in my families ❤.

I met Andrew when we were freshman in high school and am proud to have been his friend since. I will remember forever all the great times we had. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I'm so blessed to have known you Andrew. I'm also blessed because you raised my grandson to be who he is today. Thanks could never be enough for all you've done for that young man to grow up and be the best at anything he wants to. I will ❤️ sincerely miss you, Dru! Still cant believe this Andrew was an incredible cousin , friend , dad , son have so many memories growing up going fishing heaven gained a true angel hope u tell Barney and Skipper hey and uncle Phil mom and dad

My prayers are with his family and definitely his son he was a huge part of my childhood teenage years and adulthood.. we've remained friends since the age of 9 for me.. boy do I have a lot of memories.. wasn't able to see him recently but we talked almost nightly, this last year has been hands down the hardest year of my life with losing people close to my heart .. an ouch here again... I will forever miss you Drew Rest easy see you when I get there,save me a spot! Say hi to Grandma and Grandpa and hug my son for me...
