Mrs. Haas was born in East St. Louis, IL, and graduated from The Academy of Notre Dame, Class of 1951. Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Prior to her retirement, Ann worked as a Paralegal.
Ann was a true lady of the greatest generation where etiquette, manners, and loyalty to her family always came first. Mrs. Haas was a humble and faithful servant of God. Most recently, Ann was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church, Smithton, IL, where she was active with the shut-ins and served as a Eucharist Minister.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 60 years, Elmer J. Haas, Jr., whom she married on November 27, 1954; her beloved daughter, Lori Anne Hoernis; her parents, Percel and Agnes, nee Roth, Peet; two sisters, Bonnie Seper and Bette Jo Schwarztrauber.
Surviving are her daughter, Tracy Lynn (Rick) Fink of Bloomington, Minnesota;
a son-in-law, Steven Hoernis of Waterloo, IL;
three grandchildren, Brittany L. (Ben) Rongey of Waterloo, IL,
Zachary C. Fink of Rolla, MO,
Kenneth L. Hoernis of St. Charles, MO;
and many dear friends, especially the Apple Dumpling Gang.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Smithton, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL.
Funeral: Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL, with Fr. Stan Konieczny officiating.
Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Smithton, IL.
