Annabell Hosey, nee Ricker, 82, of Swansea, IL, formerly of Freeburg, IL, born August 29, 1935, in O’Kean, AR, died Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Sycamore Village, Swansea, IL, with her family by her side.

Annabell enjoyed watching her grandchildren run in cross country and track meets.  She loved yard sales, visiting cemeteries, riding trains, and baking.  She also loved fishing and hiking, especially in national parks.

Mrs. Hosey was preceded in death by her father, Paul “Ben” Ricker; her mother, Minnie Pearl, nee Williams, Harper; a son, Paul Earl Hosey; a brother in infancy, Ronald Dean Harper; a sister, Goldie Pauline Kirsch; and a sister-in-law, Janice Harper.

Surviving are her loving husband of 64 years, Vernon E. Hosey of Sycamore Village, Swansea, IL;
a son, Eddie W. Hosey of Freeburg, IL;
a daughter, Cynthia A. Bradley) Marler of Smithton, IL;
her grandchildren, Jacob Marler of Bloomington, IN, and Emily Marler of Carbondale, IL;
a brother, Dewane Harper of Freeburg, IL;
and nieces and nephews.

The Hosey family would like to extend a special thank you to the excellent staff at Sycamore Village, especially Joan, Jenny, Shirley, Brianna, and Wendy, for the loving care Annabell received, as well as Hospice of Southern Illinois for all their support.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL, with Pastor Sid West officiating.

Burial, immediately following services, will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

Vernon ,Eddie and Cyndi So Sorry for your loss . I truly understand the pain that you are feeling. May God be watching down on your family . I remember going to yard sales with Bell on Saturday morning. I had so much fun . She will be missed.
