Anne M. Young, nee Reifschneider, 92, of Belleville, IL, born April 2, 1923, in Belleville, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL, surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Anne was a devoted wife and mother and beloved grandmother.  She was a loving wife of 67 years to John, and the proud matriarch of the Young family.  She enjoyed her rose garden and watching the cardinals and wildlife from her sunroom window.  Most importantly, she dearly loved her husband and family, and often spoke of their accomplishments and talents.  Her strong will to live and love of her family guided her through 92 blessed years.  She will be dearly missed and treasured forever.

Anne was a charter member of the Layman’s Foundation of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, IL, and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jan C. Young; her parents, Louis and Lillian C., nee Fischer, Reifschneider; and a brother, Elmer “Dutch” Reifschneider.

Surviving are her husband, John F. Young, whom she married on November 24, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, by the late Fr. Joseph Orlet;
four children, Eric (Candace Ulrich) Young of St. Louis, MO,
Scott Young of Millstadt, IL,
Mark (Deborah) Young of Belleville, IL,
and Laurel Young (Ron Frauenfelder) of Belleville, IL;
her daughter-in-law, Patricia Young, wife of the late Jan Young;
eleven grandchildren, John (Heather) Young and Elizabeth Young,
Polly Young (Jose Miquel Fernandez),
Grace, Charlotte, Catherine, Olivia, and Audrey;
Laurel Young,
and Joseph and Anna Bullard;
three great-grandchildren, Colton, Alice, and Emelia; her cousin, her sister-in-law, Catherine “Cass” Reifschneider;
a cousin, Nita Spangler of Redwood City, CA;
and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, 9480 North DeMazenod Drive, Belleville, IL 62223, or to Blessed Sacrament Church.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Matthew Elie and Fr. Clyde Grogan concelebrating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
