Arthur was a loving father to his children, Tina (Rick) Reeble, Eric Schmidt and Arthur Schmidt IV, and proud grandfather, “Grandpa Art or “GPA”, to Chloe, Zachary and Rory Reeble. Also surviving are the mother of his children; Judy, nee Flamuth, Schmidt; his significant other, Anne Green; brothers, Thomas (Diane) Schmidt and Howard Schmidt; sister, Susan (Hugh) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul UCC, 115 West B St., Belleville, IL or Wounded Warrior Project. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at

I’m so sorry for your loss. I have been cutting Art’s hair for over 10 years. I can’t tell you how much I will miss our chats about the Cardinals and the Blues, politics and of course his family, especially his grandkids. He’s always had a special place in my heart. Hope to see you again some day “kid”❤️?

So sorry to hear of Arthur's passing. I am happy I was able to visit with him last year while I was in town. I have happy memories of visiting the Schmidt farm when we were growing up. I am his cousin, my father was his mother's twin brother. The entire Schanot family sends our love and prayers at this sorrowful time.

My sympathy to the family. I worked for Arthur for many years. He was very kind and respectful. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy. Every Friday the first few minutes while drinking our coffee we bragged on our grandkids. Yes he is the one who got me hooked on coffee. He always mixed different types of coffee. Thank you Ann for taking care of him. Arthur I will be thinking of you when I grabe my cup of coffee.

Dear Tina, I know you're going through a hard time. It hurts a lot to loose your father. I share a piece of your sorrow. I know what an incredible person you are so I know your dad must have contributed to the formation of those fine qualities within you. I know you look with faith, hope, and love for guidance from the Lord and Giver of Life. I am thinking of you frequently as you grieve the loss of your daddy. I pray the daily little gifts from the Lord of Life will bring you moments of joy, and that your light will be rekindled each morning. Much Love, Holly Murdoch
