Barbara was a registered nurse retired from Willowcreek Nursing Home in Belleville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Utnage; her parents, Michael P. and Jane L., nee Marheineke, Gaertner; and a brother, Joseph Gaertner.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jessica Utnage of Belleville, IL;
two grandchildren, Penelope and Isaac Utnage;
two brothers and three sisters, Dr. Eugene (Barbara) Gaertner of Oregon, IL,
twins, Phillip Gaertner and Catherine Schickedanz, both of Belleville, IL,
Therese (Andy) Georgen of Town & Country, MO,
and Margaret (Mark) Eros of Belleville, IL;
and nieces and nephews.

Funeral: A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the family home in Belleville, IL.
