
Barb was a devoted mother, quilter, baker, and lucky gambler. She was known by many within her community. She enjoyed her later years sitting on her porch talking to those passing by. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph parish in Freeburg, IL. Barb will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert C. Winterbauer, whom she married on July 2, 1949, and who died on August 9, 1997; her parents, Alfred and Anna, nee Becker, Zipfel; four sisters, Esther Reuter, Angeline Koesterer, Jeanette Zipfel and Dorothy Holst; and two brothers, Mark Zipfel and Roger Zipfel; and a daughter-in-law, Kris Winterbauer.
Surviving are three sons, Wayne (Kathy) Winterbauer of West Mifflin, PA, Mark Winterbauer of Freeburg, IL, and John (Lisa) Winterbauer of Freeburg, IL; four grandchildren, Melissa, Allison, Jacob and Scott Winterbauer; four great-grandchildren, Kai and Edie Vetter, and Landon and Olivia Kieler; a sister-in-law, Holly Zipfel; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: A private visitation will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Father Von Deeke officiating. Standard CDC guidelines, including masks and a limited number of visitors at any one time will be observed.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
