Bernadette C. Buss, nee Behrmann, 96, of Belleville, IL, born January 17, 1921, in Lively Grove, IL, died Monday, July 10, 2017, in Belleville, IL.
Mrs. Buss was a member of the Retired Teamsters. Bernadette was a driver for the Shrine of Our Lady of Snows Apartment Community for 12 years. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Sodality/Mother’s Club and Pinochle group. Bernadette loved playing cards, family gatherings, and bowling.
Bernadette was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Buss of 46 years, whom she married on April 23, 1941, and who died on February 15, 1988; two sons in infancy, Bernard and John Buss; her parents, Bernard and Agnes, nee Wroebel, Behrmann; four sisters, Frances (Aloys) Bergkoetter, Angela (Ben) Waller, Loretta (Leo) Schoenherr, and Marcella (James) Kehoe; and a brother, Victor Behrmann.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia A. (David) Oelrich of Millstadt, IL,
Mary Kay “Mickey” (Kenneth) Meddows of Swansea, IL,
and Karen L. Buss of Belleville, IL;
three sons, James B. (Lynn) Buss of Mulberry Grove, IL,
Kenneth L. (Joanne) Buss of Rockford, IL,
and Ronald V. (Mary) Buss of Belleville, IL;
16 grandchildren, Carol (Jim) Welch, Jeffery Buss,
Kevin (Jennifer) Buss, Laura (Nick) Rommack,
Margaret (Tony) L’Hote, Brian (Leanna) Oelrich,
Lori Oelrich, William (Laura) Buss, Sarah (Andy) McFarlane,
Robert (Kristine) Buss, James Buss, Christina (Robert)
Meddows-Jackson, Melissa (Jeff) Kettler,
Michael (Kitty) Meddows, Brianna and Derek Buss;
17 great-grandchildren;
and two sisters-in-law, Rose Behrmann and Eleanor Buss.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Matthew Elie officiating.
Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
