Bruce A. Brauer, 59, of Smithton, IL, born January 23, 1956, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, August 15, 2015, at his residence.

Bruce was a graduate of St. Teresa Grade School, Belleville Township High School East, and Bailey Technical School.  He worked in the construction industry for many years.  He enjoyed working in his garden, music, trivia, and helping others with maintenance, especially his parents and the Autumn Ridge community in Smithton.  Bruce also enjoyed being Santa’s helper on Christmas Eve.  He will be greatly missed.

Bruce was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Lillian, nee Felts, Brauer and Theodore and Caroline, nee Becherer, Baechle; numerous aunts and uncles; cousins; and friends.

Surviving are his parents, Bill and Betty Jane, nee Baechle, Brauer of Smithton, IL;
two brothers, Robert “Bob” (Judy) Brauer of Shiloh, IL,
and Bradley (Linda) Brauer of St. Louis, MO;
a sister, Brenda (Michael) Dinges of Arnold, MO;
nieces and nephews;
and numerous aunts, cousins, and friends.

Memorials may be made to Celtic Hospice or to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or School.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL.

Funeral:  A Memorial Mass will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Stanley Konieczny officiating.

MR and Mrs Brauer, Brenda, Bob and Brad, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Bruce. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Brauer family. One of the things I remember about Bruce was he wasca good big brother to Brenda. Bob and Brad. I also remember the days living on N. Church when I am sure it felt you had more than 4 childen with all the friends you welcomed into your home. I was lucky to be one of them. So sorry I am just now hearing this sad news.
