Carl Eye

Print Obituary
Carl Eye, a devoted husband, father, and papa, died unexpectedly in his home in Smithton, IL on December 18, 2020, at the age of 48.

Carl was born on February 10, 1972. He was a dedicated career electrician with IBEW Local 1. He married his best friend of 16 years, Staci Eye, on June 10, 2014. They enjoyed spontaneous road trips in the jeep, weekend camping getaways and all day shopping sprees.

Carl will be remembered for his overwhelming love and happiness. He brightened every room he entered and made friends with strangers at every chance. His love for his family was undeniable and truly special. Though Carl had more projects than time, he always put family, friends, and work above all. He will be deeply missed.

Carl is survived by his wife, Staci Eye;
his children, Zakry Eye, Derik Schwaegel (Lauren Schwaegel), and Abby Schwaegel (Justin Lyon);
a grandson, Liam Schwaegel;
brothers, Darrell Eye and Chris Star;
and dear friend, Donn Porter.

The family asks that all donations be made to the American Heart Association in Memory of Carl Eye. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  A private visitation will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Standard CDC guidelines, including masks and a limited number of visitors at any one time will be observed.

Dave & I will always remember all the good times, signing the books tour and the wild stories you would tell. When you talked to one person it was like nobody else was in the room. You were one of a kind and a void will be left in our hearts. Rest in heaven. You will be missed.

Carl was a one of a kind and a true brother. He would give you the shirt off his back, I know because I have a few. He was always willing to help and was always looking out for the underdog. I don’t know of a person that he held his generosity from, be it a guy on a corner with a cardboard sign or some one he just saw at a gas station that looked down and out.Brother you will be missed more than words can express
