Carolina F. Wiesen, nee Floresta, 59, of Belleville, Ill., born September 27, 1956, in Masbate, Philippines, died Monday, November 16, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Mrs. Wiesen was a supervisor at the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville food court.  She was a former member of the Philippine American Association and was an active member of the Apostolic Church of Belleville, IL.

Carol, loving wife of David and mother of Maria, was the matriarch of a large extended family in the Philippines.  She gave unconditionally to her direct family and extended family both in emotional and financial support. Her best place was in the kitchen; she was an unbelievable cook at all family and friends’ gatherings. She enjoyed watching her favorite Filipino television shows on TFC with her loving pug, Maya. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan, and enjoyed shopping at yard sales and Goodwill. Carol will be best remembered for her glowing smile that lit up the room.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marina, nee Ogaya, Floresta; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth C. and Lucille, nee Rujawitz, Wiesen.

Surviving are her husband of 23 years, David Wiesen, whom she married on June 23, 1992; one daughter, Maria (Nathan) Abalos of St. Peters, MO; one step-son, Scott (JJ) Wiesen of Centralia, IL; one granddaughter, Madison Wiesen of Centralia, IL; her father, Rosello Floresta of Manila, Philippines; and eight siblings, Rosemarie Salvacion, Junie Floresta, Grace Canizares, Sharon Eisma, Gemma Reyes, Mayreen Victoriano, Jenisel Floresta, and Jesel Floresta, all of the Philippines; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard Wiesen (friend, Joann) of Belleville, IL, James Wiesen of Belleville, IL, Kenneth (Molly) Wiesen of Grafton, ND, Gary (Nanette) Wiesen of Belleville, IL, Geralyn (Ted) Meeker of St. Charles, MO, and Jeananne (Ron) Buerges of Belleville, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society, or to the family, in care of David Wiesen.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Cremation will follow the visitation and a memorial service will be held at Apostolic Church of Belleville at a later date.
