Mrs. Cheperak was a teacher retired from High Mount School in Swansea, IL. She earned a bachelor of science and a master’s degree in education at Southern Illinois University–Edwardsville. She was a founding member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, and a member of the Ladies’ Sodality at the church.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, John Cheperak Jr., whom she married on June 2, 1951, and who died on July 31, 1969; her parents, Matt and Teresa, nee Dalpazzo, Costa; and two sisters, Ida Myrick and Alma Howard.
Surviving are her daughter, Jeanne Marie (John) Reinfurt of Florissant, MO;
her son, Michael A. (Wendy) Cheperak of Chandler, AZ;
a granddaughter, Caitlyn Reinfurt;
a sister, Loretta Melichar of Belleville, IL;
six nephews;
four great-nieces; three great-nephews;
and special friends, including Bette Meyer, Diane Husmann, and Rose Range,
and Cass Mortka at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows Apartment Community.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:40 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2015, from the funeral home for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
