Cecelia Hoeffken-Boden
Print Obituary
Cecelia Ann Hoeffken – Boden, nee Bauer, 98, of Kihei Maui, Hawaii, formerly of Paderborn, IL, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016. Ceely was born June 1l, 1918, in Belleville, IL, the daughter of Henry and Cecelia, nee Schachner, Bauer.

Ceely’s family meant the world to her. She instilled her Catholic faith and great family values to each and every one of us, and her legacy will live on in all of our lives forever. She knew the true meaning of living life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of it.

Through the years she loved traveling with dad visiting family and friends all over the country. She enjoyed many activities – bowling, painting, crafts, playing cards and bingo, but most of all she loved to swim. If she wasn’t swimming in Hoeffken’s lake, she was swimming in the ocean in Maui every day up until age 96. She wanted to live to be “100” but her health had declined over the past year.

We know heaven is getting a beautiful angel whose contagious smile and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.  God bless our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Ceely was preceded in death by her beloved first husband of 54 years, Eugene M. Hoeffken, who passed away June 17, 1995; her second husband, Alex Boden, who passed away in 2002; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Eugene (Jacque) Hoeffken; her grand daughter-in-law, Kathy Hoffmann; her parents; nine brothers, Adrian (Julia) Bauer, Joseph (Pearl) Bauer, Henry Jr. (Henrietta) Bauer, Edmund (Delores) Bauer, Marcus (Fern) Bauer, Philip (Rita) Bauer, John (Henrietta) Bauer, Alfred (Vi) Bauer, Jim Bauer; one sister, Dorothy Bauer; eight sisters-in-law; and nine brothers-in-law.

She was dearly loved and will be missed by her three children, Ann (Peter) Demolski of Lake Tahoe, NV,

and Linda (Butch) Hoffmann of Lenzburg, IL;

Aunt Ceely and UncleEutch were like real family to us with as much time as we spent at Hoeffken lake and their house or they coming to ours. I remember Aunt Ceely usually had to drive home after most those visits as Uncle Eutch loved his drink. Sorry for your loss. Gary and Nancy
