Charles Green

Print Obituary
On August 12, 2020, the world lost a real hero. Charles Edward Green, 53, of Freeburg, IL, died in a traffic accident, saving the lives of a full car and the passenger of his. He was born January 14th, 1967, in East Saint Louis, IL to his parents, Charles A. Green and Joyce, nee Dryden, Mirielli.

During his short time in the biosphere of this precious blue planet, Chuck was a U.S. Navy Veteran, an Ordained Minister, wrote a full-length novel, and conceived two amazing boys, Chance and Hunter Green. He was a child at heart with a zest for life.  He was an accomplished grill master, draft beer aficionado, fisherman, hiker, teacher of history, father, son, and best friend to all who would have him. He would give you the shirt off his back, lend an ear, and be there whenever you needed; all you had to do was call.  His gift was being in your life and putting the safety of others before his.  His legacy is those amazing boyz of his.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his two sons, Chance Green and Hunter Green;
his best friend-partner in life and mother of his two boyz, Eva Green;
a sister, Paula Elliott;
a nephew, Robert Elliott;
a niece, Jennifer Moore;
and hundreds of family and friends whom he loved and cherished more than life itself.

Chance & Hunter, my name is Don Williams; your Dad and all our friends called me Donnie. I met your Dad my sophomore year along with Scott and Mary who all lived in the same neighborhood. We were all the best of friends and did everything together all the way through high school. I could always depend on your Dad. He moved to Freeburg but we still kept in close touch. I introduced him to a job at the nursing home in Belleville working in the kitchen and we soon invited some of our other friends including Robert. Not too long after Chuck moved he bought a Yamaha 125 Enduro which he faithfully drove to work from Freeburg everyday in any kind of weather. Unfortunately, after your Dad went into the Navy we sort of lost touch. Something that I deeply regret. I did see him a few times upon his return but our lives became busy and time flew by so fast. So stick with your best friends and keep in touch – friendships are so important! I’m so sorry for your loss, Chuck was a great guy. We will all miss him. Don

Chuck was my very good friend in high school. We shared many good laughs and boy did we learn a lot! I missed Chuck when he he went away to the armed forces. We didn’t keep in touch as much as I would have liked but he was always in my thoughts. Love you Chuck! Hell of ride buddy.
