Clara worked for Special Children, Inc. and retired after 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, past member of the Young at Heart Club, and the St. Teresa Quilters. Clara loved the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed doing crafts, and made hundreds of baby quilts over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Jerome Behrns, whom she married on November 17, 1948, and who died on August 23, 1982; her parents, Fred and Mary, nee Weber, Mueller; five sisters, Eleanor (Ted) Leiwe, Marie (Harold) Lickenbrock, Veronica (Claude) Parrish, Loretta Mueller, and Elizabeth Mueller in infancy; a brother, Tony (Delores) Mueller; and two brothers-in-law, Ralph Behrns and Henry Olliges.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Doyle) Wilson; two grandchildren, Kristian (Noam Mahoney) Wilson and Andre (Emily) Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Olliges and Delores Hopper; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.
Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
