Clem L. “Jim” Buechler, 94, of Belleville, IL, passed away at St. Paul’s Senior Community on Sunday, November 27, 2022.  He was born on June 9, 1928, in Belleville, IL. He was the son of Clem and Frieda Buechler and the brother of Lila Goedelman.

Jim was a longtime member of Signal Hill Lutheran Church, and was formerly a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.

He retired from Al’s Auto Supply in 1990. After retirement he volunteered at Memorial Hospital, many community organizations, and his church. He enjoyed watching baseball and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Valeria, after 50 years; his second wife, Georgeen “Jean” after 14 years; and his sister, Lila.

Jim is survived by his six children, Jeff (Tamae) Buechler, Steve (Beth) Buechler,
Marsha (Bob) Schnipper, Patricia (Darrell) Addison, Jean (Bob) Artime, and Linda (Bob) Freivogel;
his step-children, Barbara Shaw, Jayn Willeford, and Kathi (Pete) Dow;
16 grandchildren and step-grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren;
and a special friend, Shirley Holcomb.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2022, at Signal Hill Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2022, at Signal Hill Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Mark Wiesner officiating.

Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

So sorry to hear of Clem’s passing. We were friends when he was involved with Saint Matthews church. God bless his family Bonnie Runner.
