Mr. Lewis worked as an inspector for General Motors Corp. for 33 years. He was a hard worker who enjoyed hand-tooled leatherwork in his spare time. He also enjoyed remote-controlled airplanes. Gary was a friend to all and was known for his good sense of humor. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher J. Lewis; and his parents, Coleman Sr. and Ethel, nee McCarver, Lewis.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Susan J., nee Wittlich, Lewis, whom he married on November 3, 1972;
a son, Timothy (Lisa) Lewis of Hillsboro, MO;
two grandchildren, Katy and James;
three great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Mary Lewis of Cape Girardeau, MO,
and Kathy (David) Maynard of Tennessee;
and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, May 14, at the funeral home, with Gary’s nephew, Rev. Dr. Shawn Wasson, officiating.
