Dallas Earl Smith, 89, of Belleville, IL, born January 14, 1934, in Frankford, MO, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Smith served in the United States Army. He worked for Chelar Tool and Die, he later worked for 17 years as a machinist for Anheuser Bush and later retired. Dallas was a member at St. Peter’s Cathedral.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Catherine J., nee Fischer, Smith, whom he married on December 28, 1963, and who died on July 30, 2010; his parents, Dallas S. and Eunice M., nee Beeby, Smith; and two brothers, James and Jerry Smith.

He is survived by his four children, Thomas E. (Sherry) Smith, Sue Boeckman, Victoria (Eric) Davis, and Stephanie L. Smith (John);
nine grandchildren, Alexander (Maggie) Smith, Haley, Samantha, and Elijah Smith, Cassie (Kevin) Pinney and Brandon Boeckman, Derik Carroll, Dakota, and Erika Davis;
and seven great-grandchildren, Peyton, Caroline, Tucker, Hazel, Silas, Harper, and Henry.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 11 a.m.  to 1 p.m. Saturday, January ­­28, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Very Rev. Godfrey Mullen, OSB officiating.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.

Celebration of life to follow at The Edge (2nd Floor) at 4:00 PM.

Uncle Dallas was the most kindest person I ever had the pleasure to know. Even though we didn't get to see each other very often, he was always thought of with love. May he rest in peace with Aunt Cathy.
