Darryl “Red” Lee Treece, 58, of Freeburg, IL, formerly of Cobden, IL, born July 22, 1961, in Anna, IL, died Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul “Mudjack” and Ellen, nee Sims, Treece; a brother, Donald “Shorty” Treece; his paternal grandparents; his maternal grandparents; and a brother-in-law, Lindel Laminack.

Surviving are his daughter, Meghan Treece of Anna, IL;
a grandson, Asher Thompson of Anna, IL;
two sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Laminack of Freeburg, IL,
and Susie Hand of DeSoto, MO;
four brothers, Danny Chism of Blythesville, AR, Gary Treece of Jennings, FL,
Billy Treece of Anna, IL, and Charles “Tim” Treece of Freeburg, IL;
three nieces, Nikki Dean of Carbondale, IL, Kristina Hanley of Blythesville, AR,
Tanya Emling of Pinckneyville, IL;
six great-nephews;
four great-nieces;
many cousins;
two aunts, Geneva Trexler of Cobden, IL, and Mildred Sims of West Frankfort, IL;
an uncle, Roy Sims of Buncombe, IL;
his best friends, Bob and Brenda Brotherton of Freeburg, IL;
and many other friends from Freeburg, IL and Cobden, IL.

Darryl’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

According to Darryl’s wishes, cremation services were held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
