David R. Cochran, 71, of Belleville, IL, born July 17, 1946, in Belleville, IL, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Cochran was the parish administrator at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL, before his retirement.  He worked for many years in the food service management industry prior to his employment at Zion Lutheran Church.  David was a member of the Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corps of Belleville, and especially enjoyed time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff W. and Martha L., nee Roy, Cochran;
and a sister, Angela Simpson.Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Janet, nee Junge, Cochran, whom he married on August 22, 1987;
three sons, Adam (Tanya) Cochran off Fairview Heights, IL, Matthew Cochran of Conover, NC, and Michael Cochran of Belleville, IL;
two grandchildren, Layna and Kaiden Cochran;
a brother, Fred Cochran of Indianapolis, IN;
and a sister, Nada L. Ertel of Smithton, IL;
and nieces and nephews.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

To the family of Dave Cochran, I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I knew him way back when our parents were in P.T.A. together at Washington School. May you find peace and comfort in the good memories you have of him.

TO DAVID'S FAMILY SO SORRY TO HEAR OF HIS DEATH. MY SISTER AND I WERE MEMBERS OF BELLETTS DRUM AND BUGLE CORP. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER TREAT OR TREATING, WINTER WE WOULD BUILD A SMALL FIRE IN EAST END PARK, AND FRED AND DAVID WERE THE BEST TEENAGERS. DAVID DIED WAY TO YOUNG, MAY HE REST IN PEACE, WE WILL OFFER PRAYERS FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY, DAVID COOK SOME GREAT MEALS UP THERE, AND DO NOT FORGET YOUR JOKES. Dear Cochran Family- Dave was a wonderful, kind, generous man. He was always friendly, and we too have memories of the delicious food he prepared. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed.
