David Lee Eschenfelder, 80, of Belleville, IL, born March 13, 1936, in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, September 8, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Eschenfelder worked as an auto mechanic before his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Carrie, nee Springer, Eschenfelder; a brother, Donald Eschenfelder; and a sister, Nadine (Ronald) Born.

Surviving are six children, David (Karen) Eschenfelder,
Daniel (Paula) Eschenfelder,
Gerald (Tammy) Eschenfelder,
Julie (Milton) Coley,
Sheila (Larry) Bulger,
and Kelly (David) Ramsey;
a brother, Bernard (Sheila) Eschenfelder;
a sister, Donna (Gene) Eschenfelder-Harris;
17 grandchildren;
and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Burial with military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
